Notice: Ask-a-Vet is an affiliated service for those who wish to speak with a veterinary professional about their pet's specific condition. Initially, a bot will ask questions to determine the general nature of your concern. Then, you will be transferred to a human. There is a charge for the service if you choose to connect to a veterinarian. Ask-a-Vet is not manned by the staff or owners of DogHealth.com, and the advice given should not delay or replace a visit to your veterinarian.
If you believe that any incident is covered under Mad Paws Accident Cover, you must provide us with written notice of the incident, along with all material documentation available to you evidencing the foregoing (e.g. invoices and veterinary notes from the initial veterinary examination), no later than seven (7) days after the end date that the Pet Services were provided under the relevant Booking.

Just got back from our first visit with Happy Dogs and we absolutely love it!! Artemis’ matting was completely taken care of as well as a full grooming. Her coat looks gorgeous and despite being wary of people, she came out happy and comfortable. She even came out with little bows on her ears and a cute bandana. The staff was incredibly welcoming to us and took amazing care of her. With great service, affordable prices, and genuine care for dogs, I definitely recommend this facility! Happy Dogs absolutely has any further business from us!

As mentioned above, puppies respond well to positive-reinforcement based training. It is important to acknowledge that dogs cannot possibly know which behaviours are right and which are wrong - it will be up to you to teach them. Take the time to show your puppy what you want them to do and reward them with a treat, praise, or a game each time they do the right thing.

Lucky,Leo and Alphie go to Happy Dogs at least once a week. They LOVE it! When we put their collars on, they both head for the car and wait. They know! When I pick them up in the afternoon, they are still wagging their tails. And then once we are home, they crash because they are worn out from all the fun! The staff at Happy Dogs love their four legged friends. Taylor and Lucky have a special bond. Thank You Happy Dogs for being Lucky, Leo and Alphie’s home away from home.
Dogs frequently suffer from infestations of intestinal parasites – commonly known as worms. The most common types are roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms and whipworms. Each different type of worm has its own specific lifecycle and can damage a dog’s health in different ways. Clinical signs of an excessive worm burden include: diarrhoea, vomiting, poor coat condition, weight loss and general lethargy. Some types of worms can remain in a dogs system and no outward signs of infestation will be apparent. Intestinal worms can be treated with anthelmintics (de-worming medication). Regular use of appropriate anthelmintics every 3 months is recommended.

Vomiting is not a disease or disorder in itself; it is a clinical sign of some type of digestive disturbance or as a result of another disease or disorder. Occasional bouts of vomiting can be considered normal but if the vomiting persists and is accompanied by severe or bloody diarrhoea, lethargy, weakness, depression, pain or fever then this is a sign that something is seriously wrong and veterinary attention is required.  Vomiting can be caused by something the dog has eaten (e.g. rotten food), ingestion of toxins, adverse reactions to drugs or an allergic reaction to something in the environment.
After a poor experience at PetSmart, I asked my Facebook friends where they recommended we go for general grooming for our "children". I had several give Happy Dogs as their preferred groomers. We made an appointment and dropped all three off today. The entire staff was extremely professional and thorough with the check-in process and subsequently the bathing, grooming and nail trimming. We are thoroughly pleased with the entire experience and we definitely will return!! Best wishes, Kent & Steve and of course Don Juan Diego, Rossie, and the beautiful Miss Lucy!!

It is also important that dogs are socialised with people and other dogs from an early age. There are a range of activities dog owners and their four-legged friends can get involved in such as fly ball, agility and lure coursing. Consult your local council about activities available in your area. RSPCA training and information sessions on pet behaviour are also regularly staged at Burwood East.

Puppy Roundworms can infect humans. To prevent this infection, puppies should be wormed regularly throughout their first year of life, and owners should be thorough with their own personal hygiene after having interacted with the dog. Tapeworms, Hookworms, and Whipworms can also infect dogs, and your veterinary surgeon can advise when to worm the dog.
